Known as the 550 Spyder was Porsche's first purpose-built racing design. Its lightweight construction and mid-engine layout allowed it to outmaneuver race cars with twice the power. The 550 Spyder held in the Brumos Collection made aviation history by being the first Porsche flown overseas. It was transported via a DC-6 cargo plane from Stuttgart, Germany, to compete in the 1955 Venezuelan Grand Prix.
